Welcome. I'm Peter Brooks, and I'm based in the beautiful North East of England.

I specialise in computer based Mapping (GIS), the development of databased Information Systems, and the design and hosting of Websites.

I have worked in IT for the last fifteen years, and involvement with a rapidly growing company over this period has given me a broad range of skills. For more details please have a look at my Profile.

History

Before my involvment in computers I had rich and varied experience which I believe has contributed to my current creative skills - running my own software company, trading as a furniture maker designing and manufacturing bespoke items, working as a guitar maker, and as an antique furniture restorer.

Interests

My interests include photography, road cycling, genealogy, landscape archeaology, and sailing.

I was a member of the programming team for FamilyHistoryOnline, a very large online pay-per-view database service developed by the Federation of Family History Societies for use by their member societies. At the time the system contained around 60 million records.
