I'm going to make a Pixie - a 4.3m (14ft) ply and timber beach catamaran made using a 'stitch and glue' method. It is a design by Richard Woods (http://www.sailingcatamarans.com).
Slower than a Hobie (no trapeze - ideal for an aging man :-) but it is still fast and should be an exhilarating sail. It can be sailed single handed, it comes to bits, and can be transported on a roofrack. Assembly takes around 15 minutes.
I plan to construct the boat over the winter / early spring in our small garage / barn type thing... if my hands survive the frostbite these pages will be updated and added to on a regular basis.
